Plymouth Argyle 3 - 0 Barnsley

Argyle were looking to improve their form even more as they were looking to try and beat a very young and inexperienced Barnsley side. The match got underway with both teams having to shoot the other way as where they were supposed to be shooting. Within the first minute Oliver Irow scores an absolute screamer from the edge of the box and fires it into the top right corner, it couldn’t be anymore perfect! What a start for Plymouth!

Argyle were completely dominating the first ten minutes, constantly looking to extend their advantage. Argyle have a long throw with their captain Wes Harding taking it as the keeper spills it and Curtis nods it home for 2. Easy for Argyle and they are walking through this game inside 30 minutes. Barnsley only had a small amount of chances in the first half as one drags wide from the edge of the box. Argyle didn’t have many chances after the second goal as the referee blows the half time whistle.

The second half gets underway as Argyle were looking the dangerous threat in the second half, as well as Pepple (who had his shirt ripped in the first half) out strengthens the defender and bangs it into the top right corner and its 3. Bim is officially back in business! Argyle had done the work they needed to do as Barnsley had a few chances that constantly went flying over the bar. For the second home match in a row Murphy Cooper hasn’t had to be tested in the Argyle goal. Barnsley kept coming forward dominating possession but there was just no way through the Plymouth defense.

The referee blows the whistle as Argyle win comfortably against the Tykes. Barnsley just didn’t have an answer after the first half. Argyle now climb up into the play offs for the first time under Tom Cleverley as they go away for the longest away day next week against Blackpool, looking to go into the automatic promotion spots. What a day for Plymouth!
