Plymouth Argyle 1 - 0 Stevenage

It was a very close game between two play off chasing sides as Argyle narrowly come out on top. The game got underway at 7:45, as both teams were pushing for a goal early, the fans could predict the likely outcome. Owen Dale on loan from Oxford has a shot on target but it goes straight at the keeper. Chances kept coming but there was one last one at the end of the half but it’s an absolute sitter missed by Reid, the Stevenage striker. The first half goalless at the break.

Second half gets underway, as Argyle were looking the more dominant side. Crucially Argyle go in front after a brilliant header from Argyle defender Mathias Ross 57 minutes in, a brilliant worked corner from the Pilgrims. Argyle just had to hang on from here, Stevenage couldn’t find their way through the back line but a shot does come in from them, however it’s a superb interception by Ross again; an incredible performance from him today.

The full time whistle goes and Argyle come out on top in a 1-0 win. Earning them crucial 3 points going into Saturdays game against Huddersfield Town, who drew today to Lincoln. Argyle still stand 10th in League one but are just a win away from the play offs to bid for promotion, whilst Stevenage are defeated and cause a massive blow in the play off race.
