Bolton Wanderers win with 10 men against a cruising Argyle side!

Plymouth Argyle 1 - 2 Bolton Wanderers
This was a huge game in the play off race as both teams came into this thinking if we win, this will raise the play off chances even higher. Argyle make one change from Huddersfield as Herbie Kane, also on loan from Huddersfield, comes in for Jamie Paterson. The match got underway, Plymouth were the mainly dominant side in the first half as a shot comes in from Ronan Curtis but it’s saved by Jack Bonham. Bolton thought they were the underdogs going into this game and indeed they were, Argyle had just scored by Oseni but the flag is raised for offside. Just 2 minutes before half time a red card is out for John Mcatee after a really high elbow from the Bolton winger as they were reduced to ten men. 0-0 at the half time whistle.
The second half got underway, as Bolton come down the wing and they claim for a handball by Mathias Ross and the referee does eventually point to the spot. Kenny stems up for Bolton and sends the keeper the wrong way as 10 man Bolton lead at Plymouth. This would be an incredible result for Bolton. Argyle were trying to respond immediately and indeed they did; an amazing pass from Herbie Kane gives Ronan Curtis a great chance to score, and he does to level it up in just under 10 minutes after Bolton’s goal. Argyle were struggling to find creativity as they just couldn’t break down the visitors, Bolton come up the other end as the cross comes in, Argyle’s keeper Conor Hazard completely misses the ball and it eventually rolls into the net, an own goal from Malachi Boateng, as Bolton retake the lead in the 70th minute. Argyle made a few changes to try and help with Lorent Tolaj coming back to the pitch after injury, he was the man Bolton had to watch out for as he constantly didn’t take his chances.
The full time whistle blows as Bolton win with 10 men at Home Park, a really disappointing second half from the Pilgrims leaves them with some work to do, going to Barnsley on Easter Monday. Bolton on the other hand, stay third but move 1 step closer to confirm their play off place.
